Store documents and add credentials

UbID distinguishes a document from a verifiable credential. Uploading a PDF or image to the protected document area does not automatically make it an issuer-signed credential.

Store a document in the protected area

  1. Open the Identity Console.
  2. Go to Vault & Credentials and select My documents.
  3. Either drag a file into the upload area or select Open camera to scan pages.
  4. Use PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or HEIF. The current application accepts one item up to 15 MB; the camera workflow accepts up to 20 pages.
  5. Enter a title, select a category, and optionally add comma-separated tags.
  6. Select Store document and wait for the success message.

The saved list lets you filter, download, or delete items. Where enabled, you can start OCR, review extracted information, and open the verification workflow. Review extracted text before approving it; OCR output is not authoritative by itself.

Add a credential from the Vault catalog

  1. Open UbID Vault and sign in.
  2. Select Add Credentials.
  3. Search for the desired credential and select its card.
  4. Review the issuer name, credential name, and description.
  5. Continue to the issuer and complete the required authorization or identity checks.
  6. Review the final issuance information and select Continue or Accept credential.
  7. Return to Credentials and confirm that the new credential appears. If issuance is deferred, check Pending.

Add a credential from an OpenID4VCI offer

  1. Under Add Credentials, find Have an OpenID4VCI offer?.
  2. Choose Paste offer or Scan QR.
  3. If scanning, allow camera access and point the camera at the issuer's QR code.
  4. Review the resolved issuer, credential type, authorization method, and whether a transaction code is required.
  5. Select Accept credential and complete any issuer or transaction-code step.

The offer is intended to be short-lived and may be single use. If it is invalid or expired, request a new offer from the issuer rather than modifying the link.

Review or remove a credential

Open Credentials, select the card, and use the detail, history, or delete option. Deletion from the Vault does not normally revoke the issuer's original record; request revocation or reissuance through the responsible institution when required.
