Create an account and sign in
Create your UbID identity
- Open the UbID access page and select Register here.
- Enter your name, user ID, email, contact phone, and the other required profile information.
- Enter and confirm a password. This password also protects the local copy of your secret key in this browser.
- In Secure key, choose one option:
- Create key to generate a new identity key and a 24-word recovery phrase.
- Use existing key to import a valid 12- or 24-word phrase you already control.
- If you create a key, reveal the words only in a private place, record them in order, and select I backed it up only after checking the copy.
- Select Create account/key.
- Open the activation message sent to your registered email and follow its instructions.
The recovery words control the identity key. UbID support should never ask you to disclose them. Losing both the local encrypted key and all valid recovery material can make the identity unusable.
Add the basic identity credential to the Vault
After registration, the confirmation screen can offer Add to Vault.
- Activate the account from the email first.
- Select Add to Vault. UbID opens the Vault.
- If Vault access has not been configured on this device, create the requested passkey or access method.
- Choose Basic UbID Credential and review the issuer and credential information.
- Continue through the issuer authorization and accept the credential when the Vault shows the final consent step.
You can postpone this operation. Later, open the Vault, choose Add Credentials, and select Basic UbID Credential.
Sign in with password
- Open the UbID login page.
- Select the local identity stored on this device.
- Enter the password and select Sign in.
- Complete SMS or FaceTec verification if the identity policy requests it.
The local encrypted key must exist and match the selected user ID. If browser data was cleared or the identity was never imported on this device, restore the key before signing in.
Sign in with fingerprint or passkey
If previously enabled, select the identity and choose Sign in with fingerprint/passkey. Follow the operating-system prompt for fingerprint, Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, device PIN, or security key.
Reset a forgotten password
- Select Forgot your password?.
- Choose the local identity when available and confirm the registered email.
- Submit the request and open the secure link received by email.
- Enter and confirm the new password.
- If requested, complete FaceTec verification so the recovered key can be encrypted with the new password.
- Return to the login page and test access.
The password may be changed successfully even if the local-key recovery step cannot finish. If login then reports a missing or unreadable local key, continue with Local keys, backup, and recovery.
